We got a net and started to skim off the bugs, but the net had a hole in it…then we realized that there were little black particles floating all in the water. It was covered in dead bugs, the sides of the pool were covered in a black growth. The Bad: After checking in after a long ride on a hot day, we went to swim in the pool. The microwave didn’t work, and they promptly replaced it. The view was of the river and the marina, including a floating restaurant that they attempted to move but ended up sinking. The beds and furniture were comfy, excluding the broken dining room chair. As they state on their webpage, it’s a two star “resort”, so nothing fancy. The Good: The was clean and was equipped with most of what you would need to cook, as well as starter toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The price seemed good based on advertised amenities. We stayed in a 3 bedroom house and chose this place specifically because it has a pool. I think if you love to fish or have a boat to escape the Mayflies, you might enjoy this place, but if you intend to spend time in the cabin, you might want to reconsider. We left after one night anyway to save our sanity. They require a minimum of a two-night stay. With both of the air conditioners set at full power, the bedroom was still too warm. We managed to move the AC spacer a little so that there were not big gaps, then ended up stuffing a small towel in the remaining space. There were two window air conditioners in the living room that did not fit tightly into the window frame. Other porches had chairs, but they may have been brought by the occupants. If we had been able to sit on the porch, I think we would have been very uncomfortable. There were no chairs on the porch, just two wooden boxes. Those spiderwebs had not been cleared for a very long time. We would have been willing to deal with no internet and no cell service if we could have enjoyed the outside, but the Mayflies were everywhere landing on us, buzzing around us, and dead ones everywhere, including a massive amount of them in the spiderwebs on the porch. We were looking forward to some good views and watching some nature. We stayed in cabin 14 of the floating cabins. Internet was available in the parking lot. Floating cabin had no bumpers so when it moved it banged hard against the dock. $275 was an extreme price for this piece of junk. A hole in the bow, scrapes on the sides and interior stained black plus motor was running and an alarm was sounding that wouldn’t stop. When we went to pick it up it was in terrible condition. There were tons of spider webs all over and dead bugs all over chairs. The front deck hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The kitchen sink didn’t have a stopper that fit so doing dishes was difficult. The dishes and pots and pans and cutlery left a lot to be desired. The refrigerator is a small hotel style when we were expecting a regular fridge. There had been central air that was no longer operating and had been replaced by a window unit in the front room and none in the bedroom. Upon entry it was obvious that the owners were not interested in maintenance. We checked in and got a 1 bedroom floating cabin.
